SEATTLE START-UP POPINS AND ARTIST ZAN FISKUM DEBUT WORLD’S FIRST AR-IRL DAY

ZAN PERFORMS LIVE AS SEATTLE’S MUSIC SCENE OPENS; POPINS RELEASES ZAN’S EXCLUSIVE 3D HOLOGRAPHIC PERFORMANCE OF “LEAN IN” THAT TURNS ALL THE WORLD INTO A DIGITAL STAGE AS AN NFT

Once in a while there’s a voice that seems to strike a chord with a generation. A voice that takes you to a place more intimate than public, and more expressive than what you expected. Zan Fiskum is that voice. “You have that ethereal quality…it feels angelic”, said coach John Legend. Kelly Clarkson added “…you sound magical”. When you couple Zan with Popins, a new technology that brings the artist into your world in a more intimate way than was ever possible before, the result is pure delight.

On July 2nd, Zan and Popins will release a medium-bending new form of AR music video that brings an exclusive performance of “Lean In” from her newest album Sleeping Problems to you in 3D. With 70% of Seattle vaccinated, Zan will additionally play with her full band live at The Triple Door, one of Seattle’s premiere venues on the 2nd; her first return to the stage since finishing top 10 on Season 18 of The Voice in 2020. This combination allows enthusiastic local fans to enjoy Zan IRL (in real life) in Seattle, and simultaneously, fans everywhere in the world can turn their environments into a personal stage for her to perform on with the power of augmented reality (AR).

Says Zan, “I am extremely amazed and proud of the AR video, it’s a brand-new way to connect with an artist… I’m so excited to be able to interact with the people in the videos and see people posting…it’ll be a cool way to feel more connected to my followers and I hope they will feel more connected to me as well. It’s almost like hosting an artist in your home, but it’s better because you get to be part of the show and the performance, if you want to be…it’s incredible technology and I’m really proud that my music is a part of this.

Popins takes music videos to a new level by lifting the artist off the 2D screen and into your life, where their holographic performances can be viewed from all angles. Uniquely, Popins also offers digital collectors a bonus via NFTs which display the owner’s name and image alongside the artist’s info. Popins launched the world’s first AR music video you can own on June 10th featuring Alec Shaw; the collection sold out within 24 hours.

Zan is a young singer/songwriter who uses her haunting and beautifully controlled singing to craft ethereal folk/pop songs. With millions of streams in hand, Zan made her national debut as a finalist on The Voice during the pandemic and began work on her debut album “Sleeping Problems” while receiving praise and recognition from Billboard and Maggie Rogers, and the continued support of coach John Legend. This exclusive AR performance was captured in Popins volumetric video studio in Seattle, with Zan singing the vocals live in the studio in one take. Reflecting on the inspiration of “Lean In”, Zan says it represents “the tug and pull of going for it but also of being afraid. Lean in, listen to that intuition, listen to your heart, and don’t be held back by the fear.”

Powered by Omnivor, the world leader in volumetric video streaming, Popins ability to stream means users around the world can enjoy full songs or even full concerts all without the necessity of downloading an app. No other platform in the world has this capability. Popins are honored to be the first commercial product released on the Omnivor platform. Popins also partners with the team at Rarible, who share the belief that AR has the potential to reinvent the NFT market.

Popins are next-generation life-like AR experiences that put real artists into your world and allow you and your friends to WATCH performances, RECORD what your phone sees, and even jump in to create a personal MIX you can SHARE.

With Popins, all the world’s a stage. Play on.
